“Giving Back to the Communities We Serve”
RJ MacIsaac Ltd has its roots in rural Nova Scotia. It is where we work, where we live and where we prosper. The company recognizes it has a responsibility to ensure our neighbours and partners are consulted meaningfully.
RJMI intends to follow these core principles for the Practice of Public and Community Outreach:
- Community Outreach is based on the belief that those who are affected by a decision have a right to be informed and consulted. In consultation with the community, we will establish a Community Liaison Council whose job is to act as an evergreen focus group where we provide transparency on our Health and Safety commitments, Environmental Protection Measures and our corporate contributions to the community.
- Community Outreach includes the promise that the public's contribution will be factored into our decisions, wherever possible if it does not impact safety and our adherence to laws and regulations governing the operation.
- Community Outreach needs to involve active listening and not be a one-way process.
- Community Outreach seeks out and facilitates the involvement of those potentially affected by or interested in a decision.
- Community Outreach provides participants with the information they need to participate in a meaningful way. We commit to proactive disclosure of any changes in operations that might impact the community.
- Community Outreach communicates to participants how their input affected decisions and operations.
- We commit to providing regular reports to those with questions and to the community at large.
- RJMI strives for continual improvement in safety and environmental protection.
We “give where we live,” meaning we make meaningful contributions to advance our community in healthcare, the environment, local communities and the arts. RJMI believes in sharing with the people and places that help sustain our business and our people.
