Holiday Island

Holiday Island

The MV Holiday Island served as a car and passenger ferry to Prince Edward Island for 50 years. Several generations of families and tourists travelled on the Ferry for annual vacations and family visits. In July 2022, a fire occurred in the engine room while the vessel was docking at the Wood Islands, PEI, ferry terminal. Due to the extent of the fire damage and the vessel’s age, repairs were deemed unfeasible.

RJ MacIsaac Construction Ltd. (RJMI) was selected to carry out the disposal of the MV Holiday Island ferry at its Responsible Ship Recycling Facility in Sheet Harbour, Nova Scotia.
