The CCGS Hudson was a Canadian oceanographic research vessel in service from 1963 to 2022. Built as a floating lab, it supported major scientific missions, including the first circumnavigation of the Americas in 1970. Initially operated by the Canadian Oceanographic Service at the Bedford Institute of Oceanography, it was transferred to the Canadian Coast Guard in 1996.
For nearly 60 years, the Hudson made significant contributions to ocean science before being decommissioned in 2022. RJMI was honoured to be awarded the contract to recycle the Hudson in December 2022. The project was completed in May 2024.
