Giving Back to the Communities We Serve
RJ MacIsaac Ltd. has its roots in rural Nova Scotia—it’s where we work, live and prosper. We recognize our responsibility to engage meaningfully with our neighbours and partners.
RJMI follows these core principles for Public and Community Outreach:
Informed and Consulted
Those affected by a decision have the right to be informed and consulted. In collaboration with the community, we will establish a Community Liaison Council to serve as an ongoing evergreen focus group. This council will ensure transparency around our health and safety commitments, environmental protection measures and corporate contributions.
Two-Way Dialogue
Outreach must involve active listening; it is not a one-way process.
Incorporating Public Input
We commit to the fullest consideration of public input – provided that it complies with legal and regulatory obligations, and our standards for safety.
Inclusive Engagement
We will seek out and facilitate the involvement of all those potentially affected by or interested in our operations.
Transparent Information Sharing
We will provide participants with the information needed to engage meaningfully and commit to proactively disclosing any operational changes that may impact the community.
Accountability
We will communicate clearly how public input has influenced our decisions and operations.
Ongoing Communication
We will provide regular updates to individuals with questions and to the community at large.
RJMI is committed to continuous improvement in safety and environmental protection.
We also “give where we live”—making meaningful contributions to healthcare, the environment, local communities and the arts. We believe in sharing with the people and places that sustain our business and our team.
